Music for Experience The Planets

sound

Experience the Planets - Design by Greg Martin

Update: The complete album is now available on iTunes and Bandcamp. Thanks for your support!

I meant to post this a few months ago, but earlier this year I had the opportunity to collaborate with Greg Martin to produce some original music for his Experience The Planets project.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Ultimately, my goal is to produce a unique piece for each planet. I already have a variety of sound sketches for some of the others. So we’ll see how that goes.

The music was produced in Apple Garageband with a variety of custom instruments and effects, and of course no built-in loops.

  1. This is a beautiful track. Is there a chance you might post a downloadable version of it on your blog some day? I would love to have this in my library alongside the rest of my ambient electronica.

And btw, it is a perfect fit for the ambiance of ETP. Awesome work.

  2. I would love to spend some cash for an epic Experience The Planets OST album with lovely sounds of our Solar Family. This track is so awesome and godlike it even hurts (in the good way).

  4. I’m very much into ambient music. I’ve been listening to streams like bluemars for over a decade now. Ambient and zerobeat are my primary bg-music when working, playing games or dreaming. About this track i say: this is the spirit! Oh PLEASE don’t stop producing!! You’re a sun among astroids.

  5. Thank you all, these comments are incredibly encouraging! The good news is *yes* I am continuing to produce new work in the series. There is plenty of inspiration out there. So stay tuned for updates on my site, and possibly some new songs included on Experience The Planets as well.

If you have thoughts, suggestions or other comments please let me know.

    Thanks again!

  9. Any chance of getting the GarageBand file for this? I’m a bit of a newbie to GarageBand and I’d love to play around with it and see what I can come up with!

  10. I’ll add to the requests for the downloadable versions of these tracks. They are brilliant, I truly regret I can’t listen to them unless I’m online at the moment. Keep up the good work, by the way, we are all looking forward to listen to the new ones you’re working on.
    Cheers

  11. Is there a way I could perhaps download some of these songs? I love this kind of electronic/ambient music and would love to have some of it in my iTunes. It is absolutely beautiful and it fits perfectly with the art on Greg Martin’s website.
